A-Z Challenge: I - Italy

I is for Italy

One of my dreams is to visit Italy. Why the hell I didn't manage this while I was only living a 2 hour flight away in England, goodness only knows. I really want to celebrate my *ahem* 40-10th birthday this year in Italy, but it doesn't look like it will be possible. So, to help me manifest it for next year, I thought I would tempt you all with some gorgeous piccies of some of the different regions.

Rome
According to my sister, who has gone a couple of times, the architecture is magnificent, the food fabulous and the churches out of this world. Just wear comfortable shoes for all that walking around sight-seeing.

Tuscany
I've seen so many films and read books set in Tuscany and it just seems sooo beautiful.

Florence
Friends have visited this medieval city and come back raving about how beautiful it is, with tons of art galleries and museums and excellent restaurants.

Venice
Well, who doesn't want to visit Venice? Just need to save up all my pennies as it's jolly expensive.

Sardinia
The beaches are too beautiful - just look at the colour of that water.

Where in the world would you most like to visit?

  1. In picture Italy always looks so beautiful. If I could visit anywhere out of the US I would love to see England.

    1. England is beautiful, but then I'm biased! I can definitely recommend some places to visit if you decide to go.

  4. A two-hour flight away...gasp, LOL. I did the same thing when I was holidaying in the UK and never got to Scotland. Of course it was February, LOL. Italy is on the ol' bucket list, heck, traveling to the majority of the world is on that list!

  5. Italy sounds like a great place, I really have no exact destination I want to go, sometimes I just want to hop on a plane and go where it goes though, think that would be interesting.

    1. Unless it ended up in some really boring town or a couple of hours from where you started! Sounds adventurous though. Let me know if you do it!

  6. You now how much I love Italy. Off for a long weekend to the Amalfi coast again in a few weeks. Love all the places you talked about but don't forget, Siena (you will see why I wanted to name my dog after it! Such a beautiful city). Also add to your list Lake Como, Pisa, Puglia, Sorrento, San Gimiano. You are going to have to go for about 6 weeks!!! If you do go next year, I'll come!!!

  8. Italy is just around the corner, so I have been there a couple of times. But if I could choose, I'd love to visit Malaysia and New Zealand. I am visiting from the A-Z challenge.

  14. Please add Naples (Napoli) to your visit of Italy! The people are wonderfully passionate, the setting in Old Town spectacular for its medieval architecture, and the restaurants varied and delicious. Waiters in Napoli have attitude! Nice post for remembering my favorite Italian town.
