Back from the blogging wilderness

Hellooooo! I'm back. Yes, I know it's been bloody ages since I last blogged. Bad Claire. I have just been having waaaay too much fun. Let me give you a very brief insight into just how much fun I have been having these last few weeks.

August was basically "Holiday Month" for me. I went south for a lovely, girlie weekend with my 17 year old daughter to Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel. I've still got to write Part Three - sorry, will get to that soon. Then I went north to Fort Bragg with my hubby, my 15 year old son and his friend. That was fun too, but in a different, more manly way. Then I barely had time to unpack and do laundry before I was off again. This time to San Diego. Oh my god! A whole week just with my gorgeous husband and no children. Heaven.

It was my 50th birthday and instead of having a huge party at home, which I was thinking of doing but then just seemed like a whole lot of sodding work and expense for us, my hubby took me away for a week. We spent 3 days in San Diego (I am officially in love with SD) and then 3 days staying with amazing friends who live about 40 mins outside SD.

I was thoroughly spoilt with visits to see wild animals, luxury cinemas, live music, a gay play, expensive jewellery, delicious meals at amazing restaurants and tons of laughing and lots of rumpy pumpy! Who knew turning 50 would be so great?

Then I had about of week of telling off errant teenagers and sorting out consequences for parties held at our house while we were away (actually, they weren't toooo bad, thankfully) before I was packing again. This time it was Vegas, as I mentioned in my last post. Wow. What an excellent time I had. They completely spoilt us, from chauffeur driven Mercedes and hot towels when we got off the plane, to free Tommy Bahama watches, pressies in our rooms, sorry suites, to incredible food and endless, constant, non-stop free bars everywhere. I had very little sleep and very much headache!

Then it was back to work with a vengeance. A day after we got back from our debauched Vegas trip, I had to return to my early shift - 6am to 3pm! Argh! Getting up at 5am is a little surprising and all those who know me from old will be utterly amazed that I can do this. And not only be able to get up but even actually enjoy it!! I am working on the biggest program our company manages (almost 10,000 people user conference in Vegas) which went live immediately. I decided to change the rules a bit - in the past they always say how incredibly stressful it is, how many thousands of phone calls and emails they have each day and how much overtime is needed. Not wanting that particular scenario, I wanted to continue my easy life. I went around insisting it was going to be "Easy, Effortless and Stress-free".

I said this all the time and would not let anyone say different in my hearing. And guess what? Although it is definitely busy, it has been Easy, Effortless and Stress-free! So much so, that everyone has been wondering if the phones are working properly or if the emails are getting stuck somewhere! I haven't had to stay more than 30 mins overtime either. Yes! I have magic pixie fingers that are manifesting excellently! I just haven't had the time to do any blogging.

So, this is why I have not been around all your blogs in a while. I have really missed reading all your posts and will try and allocate more time to blogging again. Let me know what you've all been up to over the summer. Have you had fun? Been anywhere special? Seen any good concerts? I am very jealous still of all the fantastic music that happens in the UK. And weren't the Olympics fantastic and didn't us Brits do well :)

    1. Thank you very much indeedy, Alex. I must admit, getting up at 5am is pretty horrendous but I like the easy drive with little traffic and leaving at 3pm.
